A Sister’s Love
For those who lost a sister
One of the greatest love is a sister’s love. You have a long history together, made many memories along the way, got in trouble together many times and sometimes got each other into trouble. It is all part of sisters lives. You can’t leave her and she can’t leave you because your secrets are so deep and so many. A sister’s love does not end - not even with death. You are branches of the same old tree. Even years after your sister left this earth, you will find fragments of her love, sometimes looking at the stars, or seeing a butterfly landing close to you, or in the flowers someone gave you with her favourite flowers in the bouquet. A sister’s love will never die. You are a part of her and she is a part of you.

I wrote this poem for my neighbour and friend Mary and I dedicate it to those who lost a sister. May her love live on in your heart and may you find more comfort knowing that she was part of your life than the pain of loosing her after she died.

Teri! Thank you for thinking of me and writing such a touching poem! "Fragments of her love," are everywhere....flowers, the Bee Balm, butterflies and especially the ladybugs......But most of all my sister shines down in all of the sunlight we receive! Thank you again :)
Thank you for this. For me, personally, I can change “sister” to “brother”, and feel the poem go right to my heart. I wish I had a sister….but I have soul sisters instead, as close as (or maybe closer than) blood sisters.
